Super House of Dead Ninjas is an action arcade game with roguelite elements. Race against a 30 second timer as you descend floor after foe-filled floor and attempt to unlock the secrets of this deadly tower!Play as the fearsome Crimson Ninja, wielding an arsenal of deadly ninja weapons and attacks. The controls are really good and the variety of weapons is well balanced.
This game is indeed hard to clear, there is no way a guide would be enough to make it easier, but since I’m not that skilled i might help other persistent completionists to clear this, but i’ll tell this first: The final two achievments Impossible Mission and 6 Minutes Madness are in a league beyond the rest, so watch some gameplays to see if you can rise to the challenge, because even with all the tips you will have to improve your skill enough to do it, there is no way around it.
One piece of good news(maybe) is that it’s veeeery unlikely to someone get to the end of hell with less than 1.000.000 points, so you will get this other achievment alongside with Impossible Mission.
There are a few things one must master to get far in this game:
1- The patern of movement and attack of all enemies.
On ninja mode, you wont have time analyse the situation, knowing this will save you a lot of lifes.
2- How to kill the bosses fast and losing zero lifes most of the time (except torment, that F%$#).
After you get more used to the game and you start going after the harder achievments, spend some time in the Boss Rush mode, after you feel confortable fighting the bosses it will be one thing less to worry. The bosses are the most predictable thing in the game, you can really learn how to deal with them effectively with small effort.
3- Master a build.
I researched about the game to find stuff to help me with it and i saw that the people who have the achievments they used different builds and I use a yet different build from them, so you just have to master the one you prefer.
I saw many people using the lightsaber mainly, because of the red skeleton and the spiky guy, its a huge deal to not have to worry as much about those guys, so its a good one to choose. I mastered the Kusarigama, breaking spikes and the long reach are things i just could not go without after getting used to.
Most people use the boomerang. It goes through walls and has no ammo, you will get more “$” drops instead of ammo for it so you will gain more lifes getting faster to the 100.000 points. I liked the shorter range one, it is better to fight Abarghus, for some reason it hits Abarghus 3 times when you throw it from medium range. I prefer the upgraded axe, it is hard to master, but deals 2 damage, wich kills a lot of things, kills bosses faster, hit above and under. It is indeed more difficult to use then other weapons but i used it to the harder achievments and it worked nicely for me. The Scorpion hook is very good too and mastering it would help greatly in hell and speed runs.
This one was the one the varied the most. Pick the one you like. I chose the shrapnel bomb, the sticking to walls is very usefull an d the shrapnel deals demage with each fragment so it helps in many situations, but thats the one i liked, but most of them have there advantages.
Scythe and dynamite
Those two are kind of mandatory to master, the scythe decreases your time like nothing else and the dynamite makes shortcuts, you will have to learn how to use them properly so if you want to be practical, go for them and it will save you time to learn later on. It is possible to finish the speedrun mode without the scythe, but it is very unlikely, one friend of mine said he barely did it with the lightsaber, but he was the only one i ever heard.
Learning where to use dynamite will help you in the speedrun and in hell, you can skip many troublesome sections with it.
Jump+down attack, a.k.a. piledrive
Every weapon does the same demage(3) while piledriving or spining attack, it is the best way to kill tougher enemies. You will need to perform it well. YOU WILL USE IT ALL THE TIME.
The build i used to get to floor 1000 of hell: Super Kusarigama, Upgraded Axe, TNT and Fire Magic. The reach of kusarigama and spike-breaking is vey good, i got so used to the axe that some sections became easy with it ann TNT allows you to skip entire sections. Fire magic seems to hit more enemies in areas I have trouble with. All magics will make you invulnarable long enough to avoid one or two hits, using it timely is the trick.
The build i used to get 6 minutes madness: Scythe, Upgraded Axe, Remote Bombs and Wind Magic. The bombs and the magic are mainly to kill the final boss faster, pretty much they are all harder to use but they reduce the time, the magic and bombs are just to kill the final boss faster, which is the longest part of it.
The main point is: GIT GUD, Learn to kill the bosses first, before going for the real thing.
Dodgin the claw attack: If charge-jump right before the claw attack, will wont get hit and you will be near the lump the floats. Its not big deal but every little bit helps.
Even though Impossible Mission is not a speed run, make no mistake, if you slack off, you will die. You have 30 seconds to get to the next clock and each section is demanding. Because of that, everytime you find a time extension, if death is not already giving you sniffs, search around before getting it, sometimes you can get extra drops like that, or even giving a look in what is to come sometimes is worth.
Some of the hardest sections from hell can be skipped entirely with some TNT, saving you time and lifes. You will see which are those in a matter of some runs.
Get the fairies you can, after a while, you will get lifes through points, most times i went past 900th floor i had a whole gang flying after me. There are some fairies i don’t go for because i’ll most likely lose a life to get them, but most of them can be reached without losing lifes.
Do not spaw bombs or projectiles, the longer you go with full inventory, the more you will find cash bonus instead of ammo, and every cash-drop you pick is 100 extra points in every other cash-drop you pick. So if you end getting around of 50 of those(which is pretty normal if you live long enough) its 50.000 extra points + bonuses from fairies. Makes a lot of difference in extra lifes you get.
If while descending you time goes beyond a certain amount, just start over. Same thing if you lose lifes too early. You have to get to One armed in around 4:30 so you can finish it all before 6:00. And Believe me, if you finish it in 6:00:02 you wont get the achievment(WONDER HOW I KNOW IT?). maybe with 6:00:00, but that is still not less than 6:00, so you might not get it still (its says “LESS THAN 6”)
The third part of the tower, the sanctum, is longer and harder so it will take more time, which means you can’t clear the first two parts in 1:30 or you wont make it in time. I was clearing the first part regularly in around 1:10, and the second part in 1:20, combined 2:30, which left me with 2 minutes for the third part, every second counts.
As I said in the beggining, there is no easy way to clear this game. There are more than one way though, nonetheless you will have to master a build to do it. I’m the only guy i saw that used the axe, go for what works better for you.
